Nookington's
Nook Inc., formerly known as Tom Nook’s Shops, Incorporated (sometimes known as TNS) is the largest corporation in the world, operating a large scale retail chain, manufacturing facilities, a food service distribution company, a private security firm, a construction company, a network of real estate offices, a large university, and a state of the art hospital, also holding a 50% stake in Sodexo. Tom Nook, the richest man in the world, is the founder and CEO of the company. The company actively operates four retail concepts: Mega Nookington’s, Nookington’s, NookWay, and Nook n’ Go. Most Tom Nook’s Shops employees are represented by collective bargaining agreements (union employees), with many employees belonging to the Service Employees International Union, the United Food and Commercial Workers, and the International Brotherhood of the Teamsters, and independent unions such as the NAP Benevolent Association. It is the world’s largest employer; most Sims have worked for Tom Nook’s company at some point in their life, and the company has a presence just about everywhere, including more than one store in most neighborhoods, and mini stores (including cafeterias and food courts) inside institutions such as airports, hospitals, and schools. Nook Inc. as depicted in Simasota County is a parody of Tom Nook’s operations in Nintendo’s Animal Crossing as well as large companies and chain stores such as Amazon, Walmart, Target, and Kroger.
