Regina Poms
Regina Poms is a teen who lives on-base at Naval Air Station Port Simasota. She is a varsity cheerleader and NJROTC cadet at Port Simasota High School where she is a senior (she nears adulthood). Her father is in the military, and her mother is a nurse at Pleasantview Regional Medical Center. She has five siblings. She was born on February 11, 1997 in Mechanicsburg, Animal Forrest. Her father is American and her mother was born in Kyiv, Ukraine.
Regina is a highly intelligent young lady and practically an overachiever. When she was a child, she was a Girl Scout. She is best friends with Melissa Blackwater, who is the manager at the Pleasantview Nookington’s and technically Regina’s boss. She loves the color pink, hence the very pink decor in her office at Nookington’s. Her nickname is Pompom, and she says “rah rah” a lot (based on the Animal Crossing character Pompom). She is athletic and very interested in sports. She loves to learn new skills and hang out with Melissa on their days off. They often play games together, including chess, and she sometimes goes to Melissa’s church but she has not yet mastered the lifetime happiness skill, which is what Sims study at Tri-City Baptist Church. She is also acquainted with Roxanne Flowers (Roxy) who is a children’s Sunday school teacher at Melissa’s church and is also an NAP agent, serving the Downtown store.
She has been the lead asset protection agent at the Pleasantview Nookington’s store for three months, a rather dangerous job for a teenager, but she is good at it. She helped return the troubled store, which had been operating at a loss since Roxy’s departure and was slated for closure, to profitable status. She frequently wears her cheer uniform while at work to throw off out-of-town shoplifters who don’t expect to be taken down by a high school cheerleader. Because she has Slavic heritage, she is a well-respected member of the Nook’s Asset Protection Benevolent Association (also known as the NAP union) and is eligible to wear a uniform with a Ukrainian or Soviet patch, but as a military child she prefers to wear the American flag patch when wearing her security uniform. She is a potential union rep if she is not killed as is the fate of most NAP agents at the Pleasantview store and does not change careers as an adult. Like all NAP agents, she is trained in first aid (which she actually learned as a Girl Scout) and the use of a firearm, both skills she has already used in her short time in the position. Some of the local criminals would like to kill her, so she is very careful when she is off-base. She removed the anti-theft posters found in most of Nook’s properties from the walls of the Pleasantview store because they paint Angela Smyth in a bad light and she likes Angela Smyth despite Angela’s past. Angela goes to Melissa’s church along with her family, and Pompom thinks highly of Angela because she is so nice, but Angela is somewhat intimidated by Pompom.
